Silly Sexy Monster Classics

Hey look, my zine is done! Actually it's been done a for little while and I've just been sitting on it. Just enough to miss Halloween, of course, for no good reason, so I hope you're not completely spooked out just yet.

If you're interested in buying a copy there's now a shop on my ko-fi. I'm printing it on pretty sturdy paper, if you'd like to use it as a coloring book... or just enjoy the art!

I've been watching a lot of classic monster flicks this past year which gave me some inspiration to create this zine. It's a small collection of seven illustrations with my own twist on these old goodies.

Let me present to you: Silly Sexy MONSTER Classics!

Here are the main inspirations for each illustration you'll find in the booklet:

Dracula (1931)

King Kong (1933)

Werewolf of London (1935)

The Fly (1958)

Frankenstein (1931), Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

Night of the living dead (1968)

Little shop of horrors (1960)

It feels good to have completed a project, albeit small in scope. I have the habit of setting the bar way too high and just beyond my abilities; inevitably abandoning most endeavors. Aiming high usually gives a good challenge and keeps me learning, which is all good, but for once there's a product in the end.

I should really set my sights on making a small comic next, though storytelling isn't my strong suit. It's one of those things that I should just jump into without pretense to start learning it; not trying to make a magnum opus, first thing. Let's see if I got any ideas next time.
